According to the rules of the professional association for safety and health at work motorized doors and gates in the commercial application have to be checked before the first starting and at least once a year by a technical expert on secure state (BGR 232, directive of the professional association).

This directive is also applicable to self-closing doors and gates that are disposing of a fastening system according to the directives for fastening systems (version 10/88) of the German Institute for constructional engineering, Berlin. The operator is responsible for the observance of the inspection. This is especially in the event of damage of importance pursuant to insurance law.
